APPLETON – Avery Werfal poured in 36 points, connecting on eight 3-pointers, and the Lightning built a 10-point halftime advantage before staving off a late Spartans rally.

Werfal tied the program record for points and made 3-pointers in a game.

Tay Maass added 13 points to pace Appleton North.

Oshkosh North was led in scoring by Lauren Geer with 23 points, Brinna Paulson with 11 and Awut Alic with 10.

The win moves the Lightning to 10-9 overall and 8-5 in the Fox Valley Association, while the Spartans fall to 8-11 and 3-10.
