Milwaukee makes the list of the country's best burgers — times three
Seymour, Wis., lays claim to inventing the hamburger. The rest of the state provides award-winning cheese to top it. So it's no surprise that Milwaukee is home to three of the country's best burgers.
Thrillist compiled a list of the country's top 100 burgers, and Solly's, Nite Owl and Kopp's all made the cut.
Kopp's ranked the highest of the Wisconsin burgers at No. 33.
"Kopp's just might be the best fast burger joint in the country. And hell, I didn't even try the custard," the article states.
Solly's butter burger came in at No. 89 and Nite Owl's Jumbo Cheeseburger ranked 70th.
Water park winner
America's Largest Water Park is also one of its best.
Noah's Ark in Wisconsin Dells was voted the country's fifth best outdoor water park by the readers of USA Today's 10Best. Splashin' Safari in Santa Claus, Ind., topped the list.
Wisconsin water parks dominated 10Best's indoor water park rankings, with Great Wolf Lodge (multiple locations, including Wisconsin Dells) topping the list, and Kalahari (Wisconsin Dells, No. 2), Timber Ridge Lodge & Water Park (Lake Geneva, No. 5) and the Wilderness Resort (Wisconsin Dells, No. 7) all making the top 10 list.
