Ben Chan, an assistant professor of philosophy at St. Norbert College in De Pere, has three wins on "Jeopardy!" to date.

For everybody in Wisconsin and beyond cheering on Ben Chan during his "Jeopardy!" run, hold that thought.

The St. Norbert College philosophy professor with three wins under his belt and counting will not be on today's show.

"Due to an ill-timed illness, Ben Chan's return to 'Jeopardy!' was delayed. See him try for his 4th win (!) on Monday, May 15th," St. Norbert College said in a statement.

Chan taped his first episodes in January. According to the newest installment of the "Inside Jeopardy!" podcast, he was unable to travel for the next round of taping days.

At the beginning of tonight's episode, host Ken Jennings told viewers that has only happened a few times in "Jeopardy!" history.

Chan has already racked up $69,001 in winnings since his debut on the quiz show on Wednesday, handily beating out his fellow contestants all three times. He's emerging as a fan favorite.

One person on Twitter called him the perfect "Jeopardy!" champion — "telegenic, modest, and wicked smart." On the "Jeopardy!" Facebook page, a fan commented, "Ben is my new favorite. I love his smiling personality, demeanor and knowledge base." A couple of other viewers have mentioned they would like to see him compete in the show's Tournament of Champions.

"Inside Jeopardy!" co-host Buzzy Cohen described Chan as "a very, very dominant player" in his first three wins.
