Wisconsin "Bachelor" buffs, you'll see a familiar face if you tune into "Special Forces: World's Toughest Test" Season 2, which premieres Monday night on Fox.

Waukesha native and "Bachelor" franchise veteran Nick Viall is one of 14 celebrities who will be on the show, taking on "grueling challenges from the playbook of the actual Special Forces selection process," according to Fox.

"Most insane experience of my life," Viall captioned a "Special Forces" promo that he shared on Instagram. "I was not prepared."

Viall will be joined by other reality TV stars, including Tyler Cameron, who was runner-up on Hannah Brown's season of "The Bachelorette"; infamous "Vanderpump Rules" cast member Tom Sandoval, who caused an uproar earlier this year after cheating on longtime girlfriend Ariana Madix with close friend Raquel Leviss; as well as athletes; actors; and other media personalities.

Here's what to know, including what the show entails, how to watch it and who Viall is.

What is 'Special Forces: World's Toughest Test'?

According to the show's description, the celebrity recruits take on demanding training exercises led by Directing Staff agents, an elite team of ex-Special Forces operatives.

"Viewers see the recruits face the harshest of environments that simulate the highly classified selection process, pushing themselves in the ultimate test of their physical, mental and emotional resilience and revealing the celebrities' deepest and truest character," the description said.

During Season 2, the celebrity recruits will be faced with the harsh reality of winter warfare training on the mountains of New Zealand, where the terrain and freezing temperatures are brutal and the tasks will feel like torture, a Fox news release said.

This season's challenges will include:

  • An ice breaker drill in which recruits will be submerged in a frozen lake.
  • Attempting a treacherous ravine crossing atop a 4,700-foot snowcapped mountain peak.
  • An emergency escape out of a helicopter submerged deep in icy waters.

There are no votes or eliminations — just survival, per the release. The only way for the celebrity recruits to leave the show is to "give up on their own accord." That could be through failure, potential injury or by the agents' force.

Who is Nick Viall? What is his connection to Wisconsin?

Viall, a graduate of Waukesha North High School and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, appeared on Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe's seasons of "The Bachelorette." In both, he was sent home as the runner-up during the series finale.

Viall would later be on the ABC spin-off "Bachelor in Paradise" and become "The Bachelor."

Viall is the host of the popular podcast "The Viall Files" and author of the book "Don't Text Your Ex Happy Birthday: And Other Advice on Love, Sex, and Dating."

In January, Viall announced his engagement to Natalie Joy, a certified surgical technologist. This summer, the pair shared on social media that they're expecting their first child together.

Also this year, Viall bought back his late grandfather's Wisconsin lake house and gave it to his mother, who grew up there.
