GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers defensive coaching staff will take on a different look under new coordinator Jeff Hafley.

At least three members of the staff will not return.

According to a source familiar with the Packers coaching moves, passing game coordinator Greg Williams and inside linebackers coach Kirk Olivadotti will not be part of Hafley’s staff. In addition, defensive line coach Jerry Montgomery, who interviewed for a job with the New England Patriots on Tuesday, is not expected to return.

Green Bay Packers passing game coordinator Greg Williams will not return to the team in 2024.

Olivadotti, a source said, has accepted a job with the Seattle Seahawks.

Coach Matt LaFleur is giving Hafley leeway in building his staff and not requiring him to keep all of the assistants who served under former coordinator Joe Barry. When LaFleur hired Barry three years ago, he retained the bulk of the staff that served under previous coordinator Mike Pettine.

Inside linebackers coach Kirk Olivadotti will not be returning to the Green Bay Packers in 2024.

Hafley, who resigned from his position as head coach of Boston College to take the Packers job, will bring one member of his college staff with him, a source said. Defensive line coach Vince Oghobaase joined Hafley at Boston College in 2020 and worked with him when both were with the San Francisco 49ers in 2016-’17.

Oghobaase was a four-year starting defensive lineman at Duke and spent a short time in the NFL. He was a graduate assistant coach at Duke for two seasons (2011-’12) and at Ohio State for three seasons (2013-’15) before serving as assistant defensive line coach for the 49ers for two seasons (2016-’17).

From there, he became the defensive line coach at UCLA for two seasons before joining Hafley at BC.

Oghobaase joins a staff that includes outside linebackers coach Jason Rebrovich and defensive backs coach Ryan Downard.

Hafley will need to hire an inside linebackers coach to replace Olivadotti and probably will add another secondary coach, although that is his area of expertise and he likely will be involved heavily with the defensive backs.
