WIXX announces a third co-host to its new morning show debuting Wednesday
It’s official: WIXX’s new morning show will debut Wednesday with three co-hosts.
“Huggie, Natalie & Corey” will feature two voices already familiar to listeners of the Top 40 station and the addition of a new one.
As WIXX teased on its Facebook page last week, afternoon drive personality Dan “Huggie” Amsden is moving to mornings, where he’ll be joined by new addition, Natalie Kay, a Wisconsin native whose previous experience includes a 10-year run at Milwaukee active rock station 102.9 The Hog (WHQG-FM).
WIXX announced Tuesday its brand manager and on-air personality Corey Carter will also be part of the show from 5 to 9 a.m. weekdays.
"Natalie is a star — we knew it from the moment we met her," Carter said in a news release. “She's bold, kind, bubbly, smart and not afraid to ‘dish it out.’ We're confident her outgoing, friendly attitude will quickly make her a favorite of WIXX listeners.”
Amsden joined WIXX in 2022 after working in radio in Portland, Oregon; Seattle; Boise, Idaho; and Las Vegas.
Carter has been with the station for 13 years and has been filling in during mornings as the station has navigated a series of changes in that time slot, beginning with the retirement of Jim Murphy after 32 years in November, the departure of his "Murphy in the Morning" co-hosts Katie Schurk and Nick Vitrano in December and then replacement Chris Carson’s short-lived stint that ended in January.
