Brewers 2024 schedule dates to know: spring training, season and home opener as well as latest roster updates

Camp will have a distinctly different look and feel for the Milwaukee Brewers this spring, as for the first time since May 2015 Craig Counsell won’t be calling the shots.

Instead, it will be Pat Murphy, Counsell’s longtime bench coach and mentor, taking over for his former charge in his first stint as a full-fledged manager in the major leagues.

Murphy was hired Nov. 16 after Counsell unexpectedly bolted for the managerial job with the rival Chicago Cubs.

The two will match wits 13 times this season, with both teams expecting to contend for the National League Central Division title.

But first things first – the Brewers begin preparations for 2024 in earnest at their American Family Fields of Phoenix complex in Maryvale just after Valentine’s Day.

Here is what to know about Brewers spring training.

Brewers schedule: When do players report to spring training?

Pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to Maryvale on Wednesday, Feb. 14. Their first workout is set for Feb. 15. Position players are scheduled to report by Monday, Feb. 19.

When is the Brewers' first full-squad workout?

The first full-squad workout will take place Feb. 20, although position players begin trickling in soon after pitchers and catchers report and most if not all are usually on hand before the first time the whole team takes to the field together.

When is the Brewers' first spring training game for 2024 schedule?

The Brewers' Cactus League schedule begins Saturday, Feb. 24 in Peoria against the San Diego Padres at 2:10 p.m. Central.

When is the Brewers' 2024 season opener?

The Brewers break camp March 26 after their final exhibition game and open the regular season against the New York Mets at Citi Field at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, March 28. After a built-in day off Friday, March 29 in case weather postpones the opener, the series resumes Saturday and Sunday, March 30 and 31 at 12:40 p.m.

When is the Brewers' 2024 home opener at American Family Field?
